Annual Women's Retreat
What do I want this next part of my life to feel like?
At some point, the questions begin to change.
For years, they may have sounded like:
What needs to get done?
Who needs me?
What makes the most sense?
What should I do next?
And then, quietly, another question begins asking for your attention:
What do I want now?
Your Turn is a six-night women's retreat created for the moments when something within you begins to shift - even if you cannot yet explain what it is.
Perhaps your roles are changing. Your body may be changing. What once fit may no longer feel quite right. You may be craving more energy, clarity, creativity, connection or joy. Or perhaps you simply recognize that you have spent a long time caring for everyone and everything around you, without creating much space to hear yourself.
This retreat is not about reinventing who you are.
It is an invitation to remember what lights you up - and to become curious about what this next chapter could hold.
For six nights, someone else has considered what happens next.
Your room. Your meals. The movement. The experiences. The details.
You do not need to organize the day, make dinner or take care of everyone around you.
For once, you get to be the one being cared for.
Set between the jungle and the Pacific Ocean, Sansara offers the physical and mental distance needed for different thoughts to emerge. Here, days move with the tides, the weather and the natural rhythm of life in Cambutal.
September is part of Panama's beautiful green season. The landscape is lush, the rivers and waterfalls are alive, and the warm ocean invites you to move, play and try something new.
Sometimes, stepping away from your everyday life allows you to see it - and yourself - more clearly.
Marla will serve as the primary guide for the week, creating a thoughtful blend of movement, embodiment, honest conversation, personal reflection, play and meaningful connection.
She understands from lived experience how easy it can be for women to lose touch with what brings them joy. Her gift is meeting women exactly where they are, without judgement or pressure, and helping them become curious about what may be waiting beneath the roles, expectations and responsibilities they carry.
Throughout the retreat, Marla will invite you to notice the quieter signals:
What energizes you?
What have you been postponing?
Where do you feel most like yourself?
What does your body recognize as a yes?
What would you explore if you did not need to be good at it?
This week will create space to explore through movement, nature, creativity and play.
You might move your body in a new way, paddle into a wave, make something with your hands, dance in the middle of the day, share an honest conversation or discover how good it feels to laugh without watching the time.
One guided surf lesson is included for every guest. No previous experience is required. Our holistic surf team will meet you at your level and create a safe, personalized introduction to the ocean.
The week will also include a locally inspired art workshop – an opportunity to create without expectation, reconnect with your curiosity and experience another side of Cambutal’s community and culture.
This is not about becoming an artist or a surfer.
It is about remembering that you are still allowed to try, play, discover and surprise yourself.
You do not need to bring a friend or already know someone in the group.
Many women will arrive on their own, each carrying her own story and navigating her own season of change.
At home, you may be known as the mother, partner, daughter, leader, caregiver, organizer or strong one. Here, there is less pressure to perform the version of yourself everyone already knows.
In an intentionally intimate group, there is space for honest conversation, new friendship and the relief of being surrounded by women who understand more than they need to explain.
Come by yourself. You will not be alone.
Each day will unfold with intention, balancing shared experiences with the freedom to rest, explore, or simply do nothing at all.
You do not need a five-year plan.
Perhaps you only need enough space to hear one honest next step.
This retreat is open to women of all ages and has been created especially with women in their 40s, 50s and 60s in mind.
It may be for you if:
No previous experience with yoga, meditation, surfing or creative practice is required.
Simply come as you are.
Your retreat package includes:
The following are not included:
Guests should fly into Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, Panama (PTY).
We recommend arriving in Panama City no later than Saturday, September 25th, and spending the night before the retreat in the city. This allows time to settle in, enjoy Panama City and join the group transportation on Sunday morning.
We also recommend planning an additional night in Panama City following the retreat on Saturday, October 2, particularly if your return flight departs before 6:00pm.
Complimentary group transportation from Panama City to Sansara will depart on Sunday, September 26th.
Pickups will begin promptly at 8:30am and will be available only from Sansara’s designated partner hotels.
If you live in Panama City or are staying elsewhere, please arrange a taxi or Uber and meet the group at the American Trade Hotel by 8:15am.
We recommend enjoying breakfast before departure and bringing a few additional snacks and water for the journey. The drive to Sansara takes approximately five and a half hours along a fully paved road.
On Saturday, October 2nd, the group shuttle will depart Sansara in the morning and generally arrive in Panama City around 2:30-3:00pm. We recommend booking international flights departing at 6:00pm or later.
Guests unable to use the complimentary group shuttle may arrange private transportation directly with:
Pineapple Shuttle | Contact Edwin | info@pineappleshuttle.com
Private transportation and airport pickup services are not included in the retreat package.
You do not need to become someone new.
You do not need to have everything figured out.
You do not need to arrive with a friend, an answer, or a perfect plan.
Come rest. Come move. Come create. Come play. Come listen.
Come remember what feels alive.
Your next chapter does not need to look like anyone else’s. It only needs to feel true to you.
