Hannah Scarpella (right) was born and raised on Maryland's Eastern Shore, I grew up climbing trees, swimming, building forts, and following deer tracks - constantly testing how much one girl could conquer - adventures that eventually carried me around the world before settling in the beautiful Animas Valley of Durango, Colorado. I bring that some spirit of imagination, curiosity, and play into my work as a Pilates Teacher, with over 3,000 hours of training from the internationally renowned PIlates Center of Boulder and nearly three decades of experience working with the human form. With a background in physiology and experience running personal training businesses in both the US and New Zealand, I've built a global toolbox that allows me to intuitively teach to the body in front of me - whether recovering from surgery, navigating pre/postnatal care, or pushing athletic limits as a dance or a cyclist. Outside the studio, I cherish creating core memories with my family, biking Durango's trails, and embracing life's adventures with my husband. Inspired by Albert Einstein's words, "Play is the highest form of research," I encourage my clients to stay curious, honor their personal journey, and pursue their unique version of success, carrying forward Joseph Pilates' vision of living life with zest and pleasure.
Jolie Ensign (left), Owner of Pause Fitness & Nutrition, holds both a BS and MS in Health Promotion and Wellness from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point (forever a proud cheesehead and loyal Packers fan). Her graduate work with the Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program fueled years of canoe paddling and backpacking across the US and Canada, and while she still loves lake life and stand-up paddleboarding, these days she's more likely to be found on a mountain bike than in hiking boots. A lifelong mover, Jolie balances her love of activity with equal dedication to pressing the pause button through mindful, restorative practices and mediation. She has practiced yoga for over 20 years, completing her 200-hour teacher training with Yoga Durango in 2015 and her 300-hour advanced training with Albina Rippy in 2024. In both her practice and teaching, Jolie focuses on cultivating mindful movement and body awareness, always infused with her "secret sauce": the grounding power of the breath.
