Susan discovered yoga in 2001 and carried this gift with her through her life teaching abroad in Taiwan, Korea, and Qatar during which she immersed herself in training in Anusara and Ashtanga/Vinyasa Flow. She was amazed at yoga’s ability to calm the restless mind and create community, even in foreign lands. Susan’s teaching style is a mixture of energy, encouragement, lightheartedness,
and creativity. She brings lessons from these different yogic lineages with her; thoughtful assists from Ashtanga, alignment awareness from Anusara and offers a breath-connected Vinyasa flow. She strives to engage and empower her students and to help them find illumination in their practice in whatever way rings true for them. She considers yoga to be a constant lesson in “how to”…..everything…and finds it to be an essential pleasure and honor to keep on learning. On an extra special note, Susan is half Panamanian and fell madly in love with Cambutal as a child. Decades later, as a certified yoga teacher looking for yoga in Panama, she stumbled upon Sansara. Kismet, indeed.

Judy began her yoga journey 25 years ago she started practicing yoga because she suffered from a herniated disc and spinal stenosis. After years of physical therapy, pain, medication, back, braces, and chiropractic medicine, yoga brought almost instant pain relief and a new relationship with her body. She was able to heal her injuries and still maintain a strong level of fitness with less impact on her body. After 12 years as a student, Judy pursued her 200-hour Kripalu teacher training. She was eager to advance her knowledge soon after and completed her 500-hour Ashtanga training. Judy has continued her training in Yin Yoga and Myofascial release. Judy’s intention is to lead by example by reminding her students of the importance of breath, and Drishti, and accepting who you are so you can focus on developing your own physical and mental wellness breath by breath. Judy is a licensed clinical social worker who works primarily with somatic healing as a Mind Body coach. Her practice focuses on connection and collaboration, working together to find inner stillness and peace. Judy has been practicing mind-body wellness for 35 years. The trajectory of Judy’s love for travel has evolved into domestic and overseas yoga retreats with her co-teacher Susan Kniseley-Foy. Their retreats are a true Yin Yang experience that leaves their attendees filled up with forever friendships and a deep transformational awaking with their personal yoga practice.
