Raised in Panama Alessa spent much of her childhood visiting rural communities in remote and beautiful locations throughout the country. Her experiences inspired her to pursue a Masters degree in Social and Ecological Sustainability in order to make a career out of creating positive change in our society. Alessa uses her knowledge and skills to drive sustainability initiatives for Azuero Adventures. She is currently spearheading the formation of the Cambutal Tourism Board in order to bring more focus and opportunities to the area. In her free time she loves working in the garden, surfing, hiking and hanging out with their pups.
Jen began her yoga journey to compliment strength training for the sake of the “stretch”. That is, until the practice brought on an unexpected transformation beyond the physical. Intrigued by the experience, Jen curiously attended her first teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa. Now, with nearly 2000 hours of teaching experience, Jen built her yoga teaching career in the Virgin Islands through community classes, local resorts, private sessions, and through educational workshops. Jen continues to be amazed by yoga’s ability to anchor, balance, ease, and uplift the mind, body, and spirit. She embraces the vastness of yoga, continuing her studies with a curious and open mind to include traditional tantra hatha yoga, yoga nidra, yin yoga, ayurveda, somatics, and even trauma-sensitive modalities. Jen believes the philosophy of yoga helps each of us to build strength and embody grace through the unexpected turbulence we may experience in our lifetime. She aspires to help students cultivate their own sense of balance, empowerment, ease, and curiosity to take with them well beyond the mat. In classes with Jen, expect exploration of breath, mindful movement, and moments of quiet contemplation.
