TEACHER: JASMINE BRUCE
Over the past 6 years I have been committed to my yoga journey. During this time I have had the privilege to train with many inspiring teachers some of which include Michele Theoret, Ryan Leier, David Kyle, Eddie Modestini and the Baptiste institute. My teachings follow the Krishnamacharya lineage. I have completed my 200 hour power yoga teacher training in February 2013 as well as 200 hour One Yoga Vinyasa training in May 2014. I have also received certificates in Vinyasa Yoga for Youth training and Art of Assisting. As a constant student of yoga I have completed an additional 200 hrs in various trainings and workshops and continue to seek out new ones to attend.
I aspire to transform myself, my community and the world. I am excited to share the benefits and love of yoga with my students as I guide them on their path to self discovery and self love, allowing them to embrace their true potential. It is my hope that students will find my classes both challenging and fun, as well as being able to discover strength and grace within themselves and within each posture when connected with their breath.
TEACHER: RICKY BRENNAN
Ricky has been teaching yoga full time since 2005 and have numerous hours of training in many disciplines, and even more hours in additional workshops, seminars & special classes from all over North Amercia. His earliest influences in yoga were in Bikram and Yin Yoga. One of my most favourite teachers, Mark Darby, of Montreal, one of only three KPJAYI (SHRI K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute) Certified Ashtanga teachers in Canada had a huge impact on the sustainability of my practice. Ricky continues to put in countless hours of practice and largely use the Ashtanga method as source for personal development and healing.
Ricky has expressed his love for vinyasa, matching breath with movement. Or differently put, matching movement with breath. Keeping breath steady and changing the movement to be more efficient or more slow. A full, vibrant, unobstructed breath will unlock the true potential of the practitioner. It will create the environment for the mind to be centered and the individual to be more sensitive to their own experience. This is apparent in all of his classes. Ricky has a strong foundation in bandhas (energetic/physical holds), floating (jumping with lightness and grace) to standing or to a seat & back, individual hands on adjustments, the 8 limbs of Ashtanga yoga, pranayama (breath control), artful transitions and advanced asanas (postures).
