Join Alex Mazerolle and Ashley Brodeur (Faculty E-RYT 500) for a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training (Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance). Learn how to find and use your voice to lead powerful, purposeful classes in both Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga.
If you're interested in using yoga as a tool to heal, inspire and create change for yourself and your community, this is the training for you. Together Ally and Ash have over 16 years of teaching experience, have led 40+ yoga retreats, both together and separately, and have four yoga businesses under their belts. Their fresh approach to yoga, individual styles and ability to create a safe space to crack people wide-open will leave you with a life changing few weeks. Whether you plan to teach, or deepen your practice, this training will provide you with a balanced approach to anatomy, philosophy, leadership and self-inquiry.

Once graduated from The Feelvana Yoga Teacher Training you feel inspired and empowered to lead a powerful and purposeful yoga class. You'll leave feeling confident in your ability to hold space and create connections in your own community. You'll uncover your voice through self-love & self-expression.
This training is a registered 200 hour school with Yoga Alliance. It includes 180 contact hours and an additional 20 hours of homework to be done before & after the training. Our yoga training follows the standards outlined for each of the five educational categories. Each day will be a blend of experiencing yoga through guided classes and learning the components that are included in a class.

Introduction to yoga philosophy including: history and the evolution of yoga to modern times, Yoga Sutras & the eight-limbed path, yamas & niyamas, and ethics for yoga teachers. We believe in looking ahead and teaching based on what is needed in today's modern world. We'll explore how yoga can be woven into your life, finding your own style and feeling empowered to teach in your own voice. We'll guide you in how to develop your own personal style and brand.
Many opportunities to practice teach will be provided; starting with individual poses and concepts and working towards longer sequences as training progresses.

[ ASHLEY BRODEUR ]
Ashley is a yoga teacher, an adventurer, an entrepreneur and an avid consumer of red wine. Her life path has been based on listening to feelings and intuition, and letting them guide her path. The first time she majorly listened to her intuition, was at the age of 19, travelling to Brazil to train to become a yoga teacher.
She completed her 500 hour YTT and has been teaching and learning ever since. Originally teaching Moksha Yoga, her teaching style has developed over the years. Today she is a firm believer in slowing down. Her classes are rooted in moving slow and doing less, better. Music is purposefully weaved into her classes, and hands on adjustments are abundant.
Ashley has been working with Ally Maz for the past four years, developing Girlvana Yoga's teachers across the globe. She started Feelosophy Yoga two years ago, a style of yoga that combines restorative yoga with hands-on touch and massage. Ashley has since taught Feelosophy across Canada, leading retreats, and facilitating countless workshops and classes.
Ashley has taught for TED Conference, lululemon, Patagonia, Arc'teryx and Wanderlust. When she is not teaching you can find her on an airplane off to her next adventure, swimming in the ocean, or have a few glasses of wine with her friends.
[ ALLY MAZ ]
Alex Mazerolle aka Ally Maz is yoga teacher, speaker and entrepreneur. She began teaching 10 years ago in Vancouver, BC, studying in traditional hatha yoga, had a stint with hot yoga and Pilates and ultimately felt the call with the dynamic practice of Anusara Yoga. She spent years travelling and studying with senior teachers of the methodology spending countless hours immersing herself in both the deep philosophy and biomechanics. Currently blending many styles and drawing from her past as a dancer, Alex teaches a fluid style of Vinyasa that incorporates deep messaging, intelligent sequences and incorporates the power of music.
Four years later she went on to create her first company Girlvana Yoga which offers retreats, classes and workshops for teen girls through mentorship, meditation and yoga. Since then, Girlvana has grown into a global movement with over 100 teachers worldwide, 10 retreats and a current book deal with Penguin Random House, due out 2018. She also leads Ladyvana; the grown up version for women, to explore themselves through yoga, nature and raw conversation.
Alex then started Distrikt Movement with Jian Pablico. A yoga, fitness and community-hub, geared toward young people who saw no boundaries around their movement practices. The Distrikt was first to market in the way they blended movement styles and the way they used their space. Art galleries, dance parties, speakers series, retreats, DJ'd classes, after school programs for teens; The Distrikt served as a hub for creativity, innovation and community for over five years.
Alex has taught & facilitated for the Vancouver Canucks, Wanderlust Festival, Vice, lululemon, Do Lectures, the LA Dodgers and many more. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Michelle Cassandra Johnson is a social justice activist, an anti-racism trainer, an empathic and intuitive yoga teacher, as well as the author of Skill in Action. Skill in Action has made a massive impact on both Ashley and Alex's teaching as it clearly defines power and privilege, oppression, liberation and suffering, and invites readers to take steps to make changes in their lives to create a world that allows all of us to be free. We are deeply honoured to have Michelle's point of view and deep wisdom in Panama this year.
In her own words,
"I have a deep understanding of how trauma impacts the mind, body, spirit and heart. My awareness of the world through my experience as a black woman allows me to know, first hand how privilege and power operate. I understand the toll that oppression can take on individuals and the collective physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.I am a social justice warrior, empath, yoga teacher and practitioner and an intuitive healer. Whether in an anti-oppression training, yoga space, individual or group intuitive healing session, healing and wholeness are at the center of how I approach all of my work in the world.
I've spent many years on the front lines of justice movements craving a space for healing through ritual, ceremony and sacred practice. While working in many non-profits with missions focused on justice I didn't find a space that centered healing as a tool to create justice. So, I created my own space and way of working.I create healing spaces in many different ways working with individuals and groups. I lead anti-racism trainings, yoga workshops focused on the intersection of justice and yoga and I offer intuitive healing sessions to support social justice workers, healers and activists who are on the front lines and struggling with how to sustain themselves as they do their good work in the world."
