Abbi comes to us from Charleston, SC.  A southern girl with a gypsy heart, she now travels all over the world as a yoga instructor, wellness coach and licensed yacht captain, enjoying life and adventuring as much as possible. Abbi’s life became focused on wellness when she completed her degrees in Food Science & BioManufacturing, incorporating scientific and holistic approaches to everyday healing. After completing her degrees, Abbi moved to the island of O’ahu in Hawaii for several years where she began her study of yoga. This new found passion would soon move her to San Diego where she would then find her teachers:  Carolina Vivas, of whom she completed a private, 6-month intensive yoga certification and Michael DeFrancisco with whom she studied meditation. Her unique style of yoga has evolved from various influences of Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Kundalini and Thai massage from all over the world. Her creative and invigorating classes are fun, challenging and balanced leaving you feeling refreshed, never depleted.  Her flow is never scripted and is always accompanied by great music, yoga philosophy and lots of adjustments.  Abbi attributes her passion for wellness as the fuel to pursue her desire to travel the world.  Working her way around the globe by crewing on Super Yachts as a Private Yoga & Meditation Instructor, she visited regions of the world known as 'blue zones', regions praised for health, vitality, and longevity.  She began to cultivate a style of teaching yoga and wellness all her own by utlizing everything she learned not only from master teachers but from the healthiest people on the planet in various countries along the way.  She has spent the last 6 years traveling, studying and teaching yoga at various studios, non-profits, orphanages and schools in Africa, Asia, Central America, the South Pacific and the Caribbean.  Her experiences coupled with her love for the sea and self-exploration make for a very dynamic class focusing on the breath and calmness of the mind to help obtain stillness through difficult times as well as our daily lives. Outside of her travels, Abbi enjoys cooking, farming, helping animals, being outdoors and reading.
