Join Ariel Karass & Giulia Pline in the paradise of Panama for a post-Thanksgiving Yoga, 5R & Surf detox and recharge retreat. Close out 2018 with wholeness, wellness, and lightness.
Expect daily morning meditation followed by vinyasa yoga class. In the evening we will alternate between 5Rhythms® or restorative/yin practices. All classes are held in a beautiful open-air thatched roof rancho facing the Pacific Ocean. Three organic & healthy meals are served each full day of the retreat. The afternoons will serve as time to adventure and explore: surf, hike, kayak, bike, snorkel, stand up paddle, or just straight chill with a session at the spa or time in the pool.
Sansara Surf & Yoga Resort is located in Cambutal, Panama -To get there, book a flight to Panama City (PTY), only a 4.5 hour direct flight from NYC. We recommend arriving one day early to explore the city and settle in, but you can also take a redeye and arrive early on the first day. A shuttle will pick you up from the Casco Viejo area in Panama CIty Sunday morning to bring you to Sansara. On the return, a shuttle will bring everyone back to Panama City. Plan to depart that evening, or stay a night in the city and leave the following morning.

As a B.F.A Dance major at The Boston Conservatory, I began practicing yoga to supplement my dance training. Over time, yoga became a way for me to reintegrate not only physically, but emotionally. Fast forward a few years and injuries later, I began to pursue more extensive studies in the anatomy and physiology of the practice and I made the shift to teaching yoga full time. I left the dance performing world behind, but infuse its knowledge, detail, somatic awareness, and passion into my work.
Through my various studies, I discovered Threes Physiyoga, a method that merges physical therapy with yoga. My group classes, workshops, and private lessons combine corrective exercises and knowledge from the physical therapy world with and around the Kula Yoga style vinyasa practice. This challenges and evolves the ways in which we move and breathe, and sheds light on how we can create more efficiency and clarity in our individual mechanics, as well as rehabilitate and prevent some future injuries and pains.
The classes I lead are taught primarily in the vinyasa style with emphasis on alignment, therapeutic work, pranayama, bandhas, and thoughtful and creative sequences. My intention is to offer a practice that creates the space and clarity needed to not only promote health, strength, and wellness, but to help you build the bridge between your body and spirit.

As a long-time student and now a teacher of the 5Rhythms®, I strive to lead people out of their thinking heads and into their dancing feet so that they can remember who they are without the chatter of the mind. Through the dance, we cultivate awareness to our moving bodies, the space we are in, the people around us, and open the investigation to our relationships with ourselves, another, and the collective. With practice, we give way for the dance to trance us, allowing ourselves to disappear and be found and be everything and nothing. The 5Rhythms® practice has the ability to take us on a cathartic experience of our own journey through life, one in which we can retrieve our soulful right to be at peace with what and who we are.
The 5Rhythms® is the fastest way I know into spirit.
