Life is daunting. The demands and pace of change create a constant set of new challenges. Voyaging in a turbulent ocean of dynamic weather and waves, we can easily lose track of where we are. We may question where we are going next. We become disoriented.
Each transition in life calls for a renewed process of clarity, compassion and courage. Whether we are facing the inevitable seasons of life in our relationships, our process of aging, a transition in our vocations or rekindling our passion and purpose; we can learn to navigate life with greater skill. In the process, we rediscover our integrity, wholeness and a more authentic life.
The week is co-guided by Dan and Robyn Hines. Beautiful Sansara Resort provides a safe and nurturing venue for this Circle of Trust®, yoga and surf program. Intentional small group practices include inner life teaching of traditional ocean navigation, meditation, deep listening and writing, mindfulness and movement and the art of asking open, honest questions. There is flexible time for a variety of water sports, hiking and biking, bodywork and relaxation. Dan is an international leadership consultant and Courage & Renewal facilitator. Robyn is an experienced yoga instructor and a wellness practicioner. www.danhines.ca

Mentored by the community activist, intellectual, and writer Parker J. Palmer, Dan serves as an international freelance speaker, workshop facilitator and leadership consultant in various contexts and communities. In recent years, his workshops and programs have taken him to China, Central America , throughout Canada and the U.S, and on sailboats and hiking trails. As co-founder of the intentional community, RareBirds Housing Co-operative, he has a passion for exploring alternative living, innovative housing and a more sustainable relationship to the land. Dan is an Anglican priest, has run for public office, and managed a zoo! He was born, raised and lives in the unceded and traditional territory of the Secwépemc people (Kamloops, BC); his ancestors have been ranchers, loggers, and government employees in the valley for three generations.
Dan strives to create a more just, compassionate and healthy world. One of my callings is to help nurture personal and professional integrity and the courage to act on it. He's found that when leaders bring integrity and humanity to the places where they live and work, it is life giving. It helps to overcome the destructive results of so much of what he witnesses everyday: moral failure, distrust, stress, isolation, fatigue and burnout.
Dan is inspired by the competent and compassionate individuals who provide leadership in some of society’s most crucial roles: educating children and young adults, healing others, caring for patients, leading faith communities and congregations, guiding teams and organizations, serving in government, and fostering civic community.
Robyn began her yoga journey over twenty-three years ago. She is a 500-RYT with Yoga Alliance inspired by Anusara & Iyengar traditions and trained with Embodied Flow™and Revolution Yoga™, both arising from Anusara based Hatha styles of yoga focusing on alignment and ‘heart and grace’ in flow.
Her yoga journey began after significant tragic personal loss. She tiptoed in, but quickly dove deeply, gaining breadth and depth of practice. On her mat, she found solid grounding in life and flourished in her healing. There she found her true home, from where she could access calm and a profound connection with her inner teacher.
Robyn shares her love of yoga, offering classes primarily for beginner-intermediate
practitioners. She guides gentle flow classes incorporating foundational alignment based asana, some yin and restorative yoga, breath-work and meditation. Having struggled for many years with anxiety she values helping others find their own foundation of grounded calm and stillness of mind through consistent practice. She is a keen student of meditation, studying in the non-dual traditions. She and her partner co-own Odonata Wellness, a boutique yoga wellness studio in Kamloops, BC.
Robyn’s career in dentistry and nutrition, along with her love of people and passion for embodied learning motivated her interest in creating sustainable community. She is a founding member of the eco-community RareBirds Housing Co-operative. Her large family, outside of cooperative life, includes a husband, a blended family of seven adult children, their partners and eight grandchildren.
