Born and raised in Houston, TX, Amara is an E-RYT 500 and Baptiste Yoga certified yoga teacher, Lightyear Leadership certified goal coach, and self-proclaimed goal digger. Her career and love for adventure has taken her around the world from Trinidad and Tobago to Brazil and everywhere in between. Having visited over 36 countries by 38, she's backpacked 100 miles around Mont Blanc, surfed in Panama, summited Longs Peak in Colorado, climbed through the mangroves in Tobago, dipped in the Ganges River in Rishikesh, kayaked with glaciers in Norway, rock climbed in Chamonix, lived in a school bus in Nicaragua, rode horses in Patagonia, and ice climbed a glacier on a volcano in Iceland. These opportunities have provided countless hours of experience in creating the perfect adventure and eventually helped her to realize her ultimate career goal - to take as many people along on these adventures as she could. Her passion and curiosity for being enriched by a foreign culture and investing in the lives of locals, as well as her experience in curating an off the beaten path and adventurous itinerary lends credence to the Live Alive brand. She is most excited for you to be fully immersed in the experience of the Live Alive culture.
Nancy has come to understand that there are two types of adventure. Everyday adventure is the skill that it takes to build the experience of enjoyment, connection, growth, fun, and discovery into daily life. Extraordinary adventure is the blessing of experiencing something rare through having the vision, the commitment, and the willingness to go somewhere you have never gone before, either geographically, physically, mentally, or spiritually. Nancy learned everyday adventure from her parents. She was taught the values of connection, fun, love and play from the time she was born. Nancy learned the art of extraordinary adventure later in life having got her passport and leaving the US for the first time when she was 24. It was then she realized the power of travel, the healing that nature provides, and the gift of being able to choose where she wants to go. Nine years later, Nancy is still mastering the art of everyday adventure and extraordinary adventure. Creating a world where people get to balance these two things and have the freedom to live their happiest lives is why Nancy does what she does.
