Upon reading the ingredients for this smoothie, you may be a little shocked or confused to see the word ‘squash’ on the list. I suppose squash isn't your usual ingredient when it comes to smoothie building. Yet utilising squash, along with these other hearty components produces what can only be described as ‘a cold, refreshing pumpkin pie’.
Not only does the squash create a rich base for your smoothie, the health benefits you will receive are equally as impressive. Squash is a rich source of the immune-supporting Vitamin A and C, as well as many other nourishing vitamins including magnesium, fibre and potassium. If that isn't enough to convince you, squash also improves bone and eye health, is effective in managing diabetes and helps to improve blood circulation! Can I get a hallelujah?
This yummy smoothie is the perfect post-dinner ‘dessert’. It reminds you of a sweet pumpkin pie but leaves you feeling refreshed and nourished. I recommend cooking a big batch of squash in one day and freezing it for a quick, easy to make smoothie that will help you squash those health goals!
Here at Sansara we love to enjoy this timeless smoothie while dangling our legs in the pool, because well…why not!?
